Faith-Based Therapy in Dudley, Sandwell & Online

About me

Meet Usmaan

I offer person-centred and Islamic counselling, dedicated to providing a therapeutic space that is uniquely tailored to each individual. My approach is both culturally sensitive and faith-based, ensuring that every client feels respected, understood, and supported in their personal journey. I work in English, Urdu and Punjabi.

For the past twenty years, I've served as an Imam and my experience also includes working as an NHS chaplain, walking alongside people during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. Working within palliative care and bereavement services, I've supported individuals who are dying and their families navigating profound loss. Through occupational health, I've helped people manage work-related stress and find ways to cope when everything feels too much. This experience taught me that healing happens in relationships built on genuine empathy, trust, and compassion.

Becoming a qualified counsellor felt like a natural progression. I'd been offering what you might call "counselling with a small c" for two decades. Now, with formal training, I can offer more structured therapeutic support whilst maintaining the heart of what I've always done: creating a non-judgemental environment where you can safely explore the difficulties you're experiencing.

With empathy, trust, and compassion at the heart of my practice, we'll work together on developing healthier ways of coping and move towards your desired outcomes, addressing challenges in a way that honours your values and beliefs. Whether you're seeking support for personal, relational, or spiritual issues, I'm committed to helping you find clarity and make sense of your experiences. My goal is to empower you to move forward with confidence.

Qualifications and Experience

I'm fully qualified and registered with the BACP. I've also studied Islamic Psychology, which informs my faith-based approach. Since beginning my counselling practice in 2021, I've volunteered with the Muslim Helpline, supporting people through their mental health challenges, and I continue this work today. I also provide counselling for a Muslim mental health organisation, allowing me to serve communities who are often looking for culturally and spiritually informed support.

I maintain my professional development through regular CPD, work with a clinical supervisor, and adhere to the BACP Code of Ethics.
